CELESA's commitment to the environment is evident from the efforts we have made during the past 10 years with a total investment cost of 20 million Euros. It is necessary to remark that we have been one of the first non wood pulp mills to the transition from the use of chlorine bleaching and offer both ECF and TCF bleached pulps.
	Our black liquor recovery system is state of the art, assuring the effective elimination of liquid and solid pollutants, the recovery of essential chemical and the generation of energy.
	Our Environmental policy is based on the application in the process of the best available techniques (BAT) focused on the reduction of emissions to water and air as well as the reduction and maximum reuse or recycling of solid wastes
	Our current efforts are ongoing in the investigation of methods to reduce energy consumption and the many emerging technologies which may improve our environmental compatibility.
